Sinopsis

Como cualquier otro día, regresé pronto a casa al salir del instituto. Mi tía se había quedado sin sus dulces favoritos y me ofrecí para ir a la tienda a comprar más. Pero de camino empecé a sentir algo muy extraño: las piernas me temblaban y tuve una sensación rara en el estómago.

De repente, la calle desapareció ante mis ojos. Poco después reapareció, pero muchas cosas eran diferentes. Había vuelto al pasado.

"Me llamo Gwen y soy la última viajera en el tiempo. Así empieza la aventura de mi vida…"

Opinión personal

• Rubí fue un libro que compré en una tienda porque la dependienta me lo recomendó, nadie me había hablado de el así que no sabía muy bien si me gustaría, al acabar el primer capítulo me enamore de él y no paré de leer hasta el final. Por suerte para mi la continuación del libro ya ha salido en España así que no he tenido que esperar con ansia a que llegase.

La novela comienza con una especie de prologo en el que aparecen dos personajes que iremos conociendo según transcurra la historia. La protagonista es Gwendolin Sheperd una chica normal a la que le gusta ver películas junto a su mejor amiga Leslie con la que va al instituto. Sin embargo, su familia es un tanto extraña, ya que por la línea femenina de la familia Montrose corre un extraño gen que le permite al que lo lleva viajar en el tiempo. No todas las mujeres Montrose tienen este gen ya que va por distintas generaciones, todos creen que Charlotte, la prima “perfecta” de Gwen, tiene ese gen, ya que nació el día que determino Newton para que naciera la ultima viajera del tiempo. Lo que nadie sabe, ni siquiera la propia Gwendolin es que Gwen nació el mismo día que Charlotte, pero sus padres sobornaron a la comadrona para que pareciera que había nacido un día después, y así mantener a Gwen a salvo. Uno de los signos de que tienes el gen y pronto vas a viajar en el tiempo son unos extraños y repentinos mareos, Gwen tiene uno de esos mareos cuando sale a comprar los caramelos favoritos de su tía abuela Maddy, y por ello se coge el estomago y cierra los ojos, entonces cuando levanta la vista está en el mismo lugar, pero algo ha cambiado, ha viajado atrás en el tiempo. Viaja dos veces más, hasta que por insistencia de su amiga Leslie se lo cuenta a su madre i van corriendo hacia una logia donde se supone que ayudan a los viajeros del tiempo. Su madre le dice a Gwen cuando llegan a lo logia:

"No confíes en nadie. Ni siquiera en tus propias sensaciones."

Ahí Gwen conocerá a otro viajero del tiempo, pero esta vez de la línea masculina, Gideon de Villiers, con el Gwen tendrá una relación de tira y afloja que ha hecho que, yo, ame y odie a Gideon a la vez en distintas ocasiones. Kerstin ha escrito este libro desde la perspectiva de Gwen, y esta escrito en primera persona.

• Esta reseña ha sido un poco más corta de lo que me hubiera gustado, ya que he resumido bastante  el libro, eso es porque hace mucho tiempo que lo leí, intentaré que las siguientes reseñas expliquen mucho más acerca del libro.  Aún así, este libro me encantó y quería empezar por él, espero que os guste a vosotr@s también, os lo recomiendo y espero que lo leáis.

SYNOPSIS

As every day I arrived early at home. My aunt haven't got her favourite sweets, so I decided to go to the shop and buy some for her. But when I was going for the sweets I felt something strange: my leggs were shaking and my stomach wasn't good enough.

Suddenly, the street disapeared form my eyes. Shortly after reappeared, but a lot of things were different, I was in the past.

"My name's Gwen, and I'm the last time traveler. This is how the biggest adventure of my life started..."

PERSONAL OPINION

• Ruby Red was a book that I bought because the sopper recomended to me, nobody before talked to me about this book, so I didn't know if I would like it, when I finished the first chapter I fell in love with tha tbook and I didn't stop reading till I arrived to the end. I had good luck, and the book was translated in Spanish, so I didn't had to wait  with craving.

The novel starts with a prologue where there apeare two characters that we are going to meet them as the story goes on. The main character is Gwendolyne Sepherd, a normal girl who loves watch movies with her best friend Leslie. However, her family it's a bit strange, because all the girls of the Montrose family have a gen that makes her travel to the past. Not all the Montrose girls have this gen, because it goes through different generations, everybody things that Charlotte, the "perfect" cousin of Gwen, has the gen, because she was born the day that Newton said it was going to born the alst time traveler. The fact that nobody knows, even Gwen, is that she was born the same day as Charlotte, but her parents bribed the midwife for changing  her birthday to the next day, because they wanted to protect their child. One of the symtoms of that gen is that when you are going to travel through the time you have strange dizzineses, it happens this to Gwen when she's going to buy some sweets for her grandmother Maddy, so she colses her eyes, and when he opens them again she is in the same street, but something has changed, she has traveled through the time. She travels two more times when finally, just because Leslie is insisting a lot, she tells it to her mother. They run to a lodge where they help to time travellers. When they arrive there, her mother tells to Gwen:

"Don't trust anybody. Even your own feelings"

There Gwen meets another time traveller called Gideon de Villers. Gwen is going to have a relationship with him that caused me to love and hate at the same time Gideon. Kersitn wrote this book with the perspective of Gwen, and it's wrote in first person.

• This review it has been a bit shorter than I thought because I read the book a long time ago, but I am going to try to make them a bit longer. Even that, I loved this book and I hope you love it too, I recomend it to you and I hope you read it.
