Hola chic@s, hoy os traigo la reseña de un libro que sin dudarlo, se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos (hasta que me lea otro y diga lo mismo, jajaja). Está escrito por Jessica Spotswood una gran autora americana que parece tener un gran futuro por delante.  Además es el primero de una saga llamada "Las crónicas de las hermanas Cahill".
Hi girls, today I am doing a review of one of my favourite books (until I read another one and I say the same, jajajaj). It's written by Jessica Spotswood a really good american author that looks like is going to have a very beautiful future. This is the first book of a saga called "The Cahill Witch Chronicles".

La historia nos sitúa en una Inglaterra donde " Los Hermanos" unos curas como los de antes, tratan a las mujeres como si fuesen inferiores. Nuestra protagonista Kate Cahill es una bruja como sus hermanas Maura y Tess.  Su madre también era bruja, pero lo ocultaba mejor, murió por una horrible enfermedad y le dijo a Kate (la mayor) que debía proteger a sus hermanas. Porque los hermanos encierran a las mujeres acusadas de brujería en un manicomio o las mandan a un barco de trabajo, ninguna mujer ha vuelto de esos sitios nunca. Pero Kate no puede cuidar de sus hermanas para siempre porque a los 17 años los hermanos la obligaran igual que a todas las muchachas de esa edad a elegir entre ingresar en las hermanas (que són como las monjas de ahora) o casarse, este lo puede elegir ella o sino lo elegirán los hermanos. Ahora Kate tiene 16 años y no le queda mucho tiempo para decidir que debe hacer.
The story happens in Ingland, where The Brothers some priests who treted womans like they were less. Our main character, Kate Cahill, it's a witch like her sisters, Maura and Tess, and her mother before them, who died for a horrible disease and told Kate (the big sis.) that she had to protect her sisters. Because The Brothers enclose the womans who are accused of witchcraft in a madhouse or they send them in a work boat, and any woman has camed back of those places. But Kate can not take care of his sisters forever because at age of 17 The Brothers force her, like all the girls of that age, to choose between joining The Sisters (nuns are like now) or marry someone, this can choose it her or The Brothers will chose it. Now Kate is 16 and does not have much time to decide what to do.
La trama de la historia es impresionante, lo tiene todo: misterios, magia, romance, traiciones... Aparte de que a mi personalmente me encantan las historias brujas, buenas o malas, y eso puede que tenga un poco que ver en mi opinión. El libro al tener 368 páginas se te hace rápido de leer porque es una de esas historias que te enganchan desde el principio.
La autora parece haberse informado sobre las costumbres de la época porque todo es muy realista. Un único punto negativo que le he encontrado a la historia es que ninguna de las protagonistas se rebela directamente contra el machismo de los hermanos, aunque tampoco me puedo quejar, porque:
1. Hay dos libros más en los que podría pasar cualquier cosa
2. Tienen problemas más graves de los que ocuparse
3. Siempre se están rebelando indirectamente contra los hermanos
The plot of the story is awesome, it has everything: mystery, magic, romance, betrayal ... Besides I personally love the witches, good or bad ones, that may have little to do in my opinion . The book has 368 pages but its fast to read because it is one of those stories that engages you from the beginning. The author seems to have been informed about the customs of the time because everything is very realistic. A single negative point that I found in the story is that none of the protagonists directly rebels against the masclismo of The Brothers, though I can not complain, because:
1. There are two more books in which anything could happen 
2. They have worst problems to deal with
3. Always indirectly are rebelling against the brethren


Sobre los personajes he de decir que me encantan todos y cada uno de ellos ha su manera. Porque siempre se dice que no te gusta el antagonista pero esa es justo su función, que no te guste y por eso yo digo que incluso él es perfecto tal y como está.
About the characters I have to say that I love all of them have their own way. Because they always say you don't like the antagonist but that's just their function, you do not like and that's why I say that even he is perfect as he as is.

En está reseña solo hablaré de las tres hermanas:
In this review I will only talk about the three sisters:

Tess: Es la pequeña, pero aunque en este libro no cobre tanto protagonismo como debería, sabemos que es la más inteligente y talentosa con la magia de las tres, bueno...quizá no tan talentosa como Kate pero eso no queda muy claro.
Tess: It's the small sister, but even in this book as much emphasis you should know that is the most intelligent and gifted with the magic of the three, well ... maybe not as talented as Kate but that is not clear.

Maura: Es la hermana mediana, según Kate la más guapa, es extrovertida y directa. Quiere hacer amigas y tener esa vida que Kate no les deja vivir para poder protegerlas, lucha por lo que cree, aunque a veces se equivoque y sea demasiado impulsiva ella es muy leal a sus hermanas.
Maura: It is the middle sister, according Kate the prettiest, she is outgoing and direct. If she wants to make friends and have that life that Kate doesn't let they do to protect them, fight for what you believe, but sometimes she is too impulsive and she is very loyal to her sisters.

Kate: Es la mayor y nuestra protagonista, ya que el libro está escrito en primera persona y desde su perspectiva, a lo largo de la historia descubriremos lo especial que es. Ella es una chica introvertida y cauta, no es tan inteligente como Tess ni tan bella como Maura y por eso cree que no vale nada. Solo vive para protegerlas pero durante el transcurso de la historia se lo van a poner difícil.
Kate: It is the older one and our protagonist, since the book is written in first person from his perspective, through the book we discover how special it is. She is an introverted and cautious girl, is not as smart as Tess not as beautiful as Maura and that's why she believes worthless. Only lives to protect them but during the course of the story they're going to put difficult.
El final es muy abierto lo que deja ver a la perfección que hay una continuación, pero no es uno de esos finales tan predecibles, ya que incluso cinco páginas antes del final (cálculo aproximado) crees que no va a ocurrir lo que realmente ocurre. Pero en serio es un libro genial chic@s, la verdad es que las chicas chic os lo recomendamos mogollón. Un beso y hasta la semana que viene. The finish is very open so perfectly reveals that there is a sequel, but it is not one of those as predictable endings, because even five pages before the end (estimate) you think it will not happen what actually happens.
